You are seriously talented my friend. Love this in so many ways.
I always wanted to try assemblage art, but had to face the reality that storing my wonderful treasures was driving me out of my home, literally, by filling up all the space. I think my love of the collecting was bigger than my desire to actually make anything out of it.
This is a kind of cousin to assemblage, but BETTER! It reminds me of art that is being featured on my google home web page. It is set to show news in the artworld. This is much like the genre that has reached great fame. But I like what you are doing more.
Keep up all the good work. ref: your journal info of current activities. Awesome.
Yeah... I'm accumulating loads of stuff... iut all has so much potential... but I don't know I've the motivation to bring that potential out... but then most of it would have been chusked away if I hadn't picked it up, so... as long as its not an accute problem I'll continue collecting. I was thinking the other day about the fact that I don't look through my collections when I'm making something (usually anyway), because then I get distrracted by just brousing clippings and photos and slides... and forget about the piece I was working on... Really glad you like it
For the one who wasn't so sure his ambitions were to become an artist, you ARE, whatever that means. Certainly a member of your art community there, which is one way it starts. One way it becomes a rich part of your life. I read how you painted the diamonds. I saw the photographer's site, the one with the girl with the legs up to her chin, Haaa ~ I'm 5'2", not sure in metric system, but short.
Athletic though, my Dad was a coach. [as athletic as I can be now, with a broken back, neck and tailbone, that is]
I read about the many ways you helped them. AND, yep, artist!
I would like to write a poll for here, my dA profile page. If I could think of the right options to list, that would represent different temperaments -- for the multiple choice -- it would be fun to see. I will add that to the zillion other things I want to do.
Getting creative energy boosts after midnight would be one characteristic to include, along with wanting to make art out of wierd things. It would be a poll where you could check off all charateristics that apply to you. But I also don't know how the system would tally the numbers. There is a way. I'm a sociology major, but I don't want to strain my brain thinking about it.
I know we would find a high percentage of people here in dA with certain characteristics in common. But after that, unique to the core, each of us. ALL of us on the planet, for that matter. Did you know even every single heartbeat on the planet right now beats in a slightly different unique way? Just like fingerprints and snowflakes.
Figuring out priorities, for me is hard. Artistic random vs. Concrete sequential are the 2 basic ways to describe the 2 brain hemispheres.
Creative types don't see the one concrete thing an object is made for. We see it upside down, hung on the wall with all kinds of other objects, things also out of their normal usage, attached to it. We could take absolutely any pile of crazy stuff, and given the tools and room we need to work, make something artistic.
Some of us also have random thoughts, and our writing is hard to follow, and talking sometimes --> hard to follow. At least for a "concrete sequential".
If I had time, I'm sure I could return to your gallery and find many other things I would fave.
Weirdly enough, people's height (along with distances on roads, as oppose to on paper) are still thought of in imperial measurements here... (do you call them imperial measuremants (the feet, inches, gallons etc)? Wouldn't think that'd go down too well in some parts...) 6'2" s me Derfinatly would be an interesting poll, but then I'd want more analysis off the data than I recon dA is likely to give... What combinations are most frequent, or what kind of work people who tick off certain ways of thinking make... could be interesting...
